Everything you need to know to successfully exfoliate
The skin renews itself naturally approximately every 4 to 6 weeks , however this process can be disrupted by different factors: pollution, poor lifestyle, external aggressions or quite simply by the natural slowing down of cell renewal with age. So, exfoliation gives you a boost for new skin!
What is exfoliation?
The essential step to have beautiful skin, exfoliation aims to eliminate dead cells on the stratum corneum and to unclog pores for a smoother, more uniform and luminous skin texture.
The benefits of exfoliation
- Restores the skin's radiance
- Purifies and detoxifies while fighting against imperfections
- Promotes regeneration of the epidermis
- Visibly reduces fine lines and pigment spots
- Makes the skin very soft
- Boosts and improves the performance of other active ingredients on the skin
The 2 types of exfoliation
Chemical exfoliation (acid or enzymatic), often gentler, uses fruit acids (such as AHAs or BHAs) or enzymes. This is the case of our ORGANIC DETOX MASK, which contains a high concentration of fruit acids (AHA).
The advantage of chemical scrubs? They are suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive. They act in depth.
Use : Chemical exfoliation does not need massage or rubbing. De facto, it is used in the same way as a mask. After leaving for 10 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water.
Mechanical exfoliation is done manually (by light massage with the fingertips) using small grains which peel off and dislodge dead cells. This is the case of our Organic Gentle Facial Exfoliant , which contains natural grains from castor oil.
** It may also be interesting to alternate the two types of exfoliation to better eliminate impurities and dead cells.
