Focus on fruit acids (AHA)

Particularly appreciated in dermo-cosmetics thanks to their exfoliating properties, AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are a group of natural components that can be found in fruits, vegetables or other plants. Among the best known: lactic acid, glycolic acid, citric acid, and much more! You can find treatments containing only one type of AHAs (like lactic acid for example) or a combination of more types of AHAs (at Apicia, we use 5 different fruit acids: lactic acid (from blueberry), glycolic acid (from sugar cane), citric acid (from orange and lemon) and malic and tartaric acids (from sugar maple)).

What are the benefits of AHAs?

AHAs act by chemical action on the epidermis of the skin by eliminating dead cells (by “breaking” the cohesion of the cells on the surface of the skin) for a new skin effect.

Advice

Apply to the face and neck, avoiding the eye and lip area, on clean, dry skin. Leave on for 10 minutes maximum. If you feel tingling, it's normal! It is the fruit acids that act. Rinse with lukewarm water
