Article: 5 false beliefs in cosmetics

5 false beliefs in cosmetics

01. Oily skin doesn't need moisturizer

FAKE

The step you should never skip! It may seem counterintuitive, but oily skin also requires a moisturizer to maintain a good balance. If you don't hydrate your oily skin, in the long term it will produce more sebum to compensate for this lack of hydration, thus creating a vicious cycle. On the other hand, as oily skin is more prone to acne and blackheads, it is essential to find a moisturizer that provides the right dose of hydration, without clogging the pores. For this, we recommend a light, non-comedogenic moisturizer that penetrates quickly without a greasy finish, such as our Organic Joli Teint Léger Treatment .

02. The more I exfoliate, the smoother and brighter my skin will be

FAKE

At Apicia, we're big fans of exfoliation, but at the right frequency and with the right product. If you exfoliate too hard (with an unsuitable product) or too often, you risk damaging the epidermis and therefore making the skin more fragile and more sensitive.

We recommend exfoliation 1-2 times per week (as the skin needs time to regenerate) following the following principles:

Normal, combination or oily skin

Twice a week, alternating chemical exfoliation (with our Organic Purifying and Smoothing Detox Mask ) and mechanical exfoliation (with our Organic Gentle Facial Exfoliant ).
