Meeting with Marine Constantieux
Can you introduce yourself ?
My name is Marine, I am 33 years old and I am a Naturopathy student.
I am passionate. Through life, art, beauty, food, dance, everyday objects, relationships... everything that nourishes the body and soul. I am naturally amazed by everything, especially the little things. In summary, I am a lover of beauty and goodness.
I grew up in the Paris region, in a house that had a large kitchen. It was the lifeblood of our family life and the place of my first culinary memories with my mother. I loved accompanying him to the market, helping him choose vegetables, chatting with all the traders... it's a ritual that is still very deep-rooted.
After 10 years working as a designer, including the last five years in the beauty sector, I decided to return to study to become a Naturopath. A year and a half later... I left my job a few days ago to devote myself completely to the practice of Naturopathy! A new page that opens to a story that I can't wait to write.
What made you want to become a naturopath?
At the end of 2019, I discovered naturopathy through a consultation and it clicked. The connection with others, the respect for the living, the support based on listening and the global approach to being… everything appealed to me.
Then during a live on Instagram I heard Odile Chabrillac talking about her Institute of Humanist Naturopathy. I fell in love with the school, I followed this impulse and registered. I still get chills when I talk about it because since then, every day I have had the feeling of being reborn, of rediscovering an incredible drive for life.
I didn't realize that it would be much more than a career change. I changed my eating habits, integrated new practices such as breathing and writing, developed all my senses and welcomed my emotions… These studies changed my outlook on the world.
What is your beauty routine?
My beauty routine is simple and I try to be more attentive to the needs of my skin. I use natural products, with quality raw materials and organic when possible.
In the morning I rinse my face with water, then I apply a moisturizer. I add a drop of muscat rose oil. Then I wear sun protection every day. My dark skin tends to mark easily and stain.
I rarely wear makeup when I go to the office or if I have appointments.
In the evening, I remove my makeup with a cleansing oil, also with rosehip, then I emulsify with a very gentle cleansing gel to remove all the pollution accumulated during the day. Finally, I massage my face with a generous dose of rosehip oil. And that's all.
How do you integrate naturopathy into your routine?
I take into account a global vision of beauty by taking care of the inside and the outside. The way I eat, the quality of my sleep, the movement that allows body fluids to circulate and the skin to perspire... the skin is a fascinating organ because it reflects our physical, mental and emotional state.
I also use natural techniques like sauna and dry brushing, sometimes a facial massage.
Finally, I try to regulate my stress using breathing and adaptogenic plants.
It's a combination, all these actions potentiate the effects of cosmetic treatments.
What are the 5 foods to choose for beautiful skin?
/ Water : hydration is absolutely key to maintaining the quality of the skin, it is the first beauty step. It is advisable to drink at least 1.5 liters of pure, lightly mineralized water.
/ Raw or steamed vegetables , especially those with dark green leaves rich in chlorophyll, vegetable juices. Seasonal fruits, preferably whole or in smoothies to preserve their fiber.
/ Fermented foods : sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, lacto-fermented citrus fruits... healthy intestinal flora helps reduce inflammation and balance the skin.
/ Sources of Omega 3 : small fatty fish (sardines, mackerel, herring, etc.) and good organic vegetable oils (camelina, flax, hemp, walnuts, rapeseed).
To nourish the skin from the inside and for their anti-inflammatory role.
/ A super antioxidant booster , among my favorites: chaga, wheat germ, matcha tea, raw cocoa, wild blueberries, sprouted seeds and of course fresh pollen !
Antioxidants protect our tissues from the effects of oxidative stress, limiting premature aging of the skin.
And laughter. Everything is more beautiful when you laugh.
What is your favorite Apicia product, and why?
Without hesitation, fresh pollen ! I am addicted to this very complete and nutrient-rich superfood. I like its slightly tangy taste and its melting texture; it goes very well with a smoothie, compote or vegetable yogurt. In a savory version, I sprinkle it on toast or a vegetable salad.
It is a living food containing lactoferments which support the intestinal flora. It is also alkalizing, revitalizing and rich in antioxidants. A great ally for maintaining the quality of skin and hair.
Depending on the benefits I am looking for, I choose a monofloral pollen or a synergy, a mixture of varieties with specific properties.
