The Birth of a Passion
During her 7 years living abroad in Chile, Claire Lafon discovered traditional apitherapy: a natural approach that respects living systems, using medicinal bee products – propolis, pollen, and honey. She was particularly struck by how effective they were for inflammatory skin conditions.
Confronted by mass-market cosmetics that ignore skin biology and the underlying causes of skin problems, she chose a different path: using apitherapy as a holistic approach to tackle today's skin issues (redness, breakouts, inflammation...) with ingredient-rich formulas that preserve their natural potency.
This vision – bridging skin science, bee-based remedies, and strong environmental values – is what defines Apicia.

In 2020, Franck Duprat, a specialist in health applications of hive products, joined Apicia to structure an approach based on scientific rigor.
