What does the ECOCERT Cosmos Organic label mean?

And because we know that as a consumer it is difficult to sort through all the brands that claim to be "natural", it seemed essential to us to submit our treatments to the highest certification of the standard. COSMOS: the ECOCERT COSMOS ORGANIC label.

But what does this certification mean?

ECOCERT: a French company, founded in 1991, for the control and certification of organic agricultural products. Their role is to control and certify companies (with regular audits) from the formulation of a product to its packaging, on the basis of strict specifications.

ECOCERT is responsible for the certification of cosmetics for the COSMOS label. It is the global specialist in the certification of sustainable practices.

COSMOS: an international benchmark for organic cosmetics (COSMOS ORGANIC) and natural cosmetics (COSMOS NATURAL).

What does this label guarantee?

All ingredients used are of natural origin with the exception of a restrictive list of approved ingredients (including preservatives) authorized in small quantities.

On average, products certified by Ecocert contain 99% ingredients of natural origin.

A beauty product is COSMOS ORGANIC certified only if:

• At least 95% of the plants it contains are organic
• A minimum of 20% organic ingredients are present in the formula in total (10% for rinse-off products)

In addition, COSMOS ORGANIC certification guarantees that the company complies with the following standards:

• production and processing processes that respect the environment and human health
• the development of the concept of green chemistry
• responsible use of natural resources
• respect for biodiversity
• the absence of petrochemical ingredients (excluding authorized preservatives): parabens, phenoxyethanol, synthetic perfumes and dyes
• the absence of GMOs
• recyclable packaging
