Complete guide to applying our serums
01. When to apply my serum?
Following the principles of layering , treatments must be applied precisely to optimize their effectiveness. They are generally applied from lightest to heaviest , thus promoting better absorption.
The serum should be applied after cleansing and toning (with thermal or floral water), but before applying moisturizer. This allows the serum to be better absorbed by the skin.
Why this sequence? Serums are formulated with a higher concentration of active ingredients. By applying them first, they come into direct contact with the skin, which promotes better absorption of the active ingredients. In addition, their light texture allows rapid absorption. By applying them first, you ensure that these active ingredients are absorbed properly, maximizing their effectiveness.
02. How to choose my serum?

03. When to apply my serum: morning, evening, or both?
Choosing when to apply a serum depends on its formulation and your skin's needs . Serums containing antioxidants, such as vitamin C, are often applied in the morning to help protect the skin against free radical damage. On the other hand, boosting and repairing serums are generally used in the evening to promote skin regeneration overnight. At Apicia, here are our recommendations:
ORGANIC C RADIANCE SERUM
*Can be applied morning and evening depending on your needs.
-
Application in the morning: Our C Radiance Serum is not photosensitizing (unlike many vitamin C serums on the market) and can therefore be applied in the morning. Due to its antioxidant properties, it helps strengthen the skin's protection against damage caused by free radicals and UV rays. It also helps prevent and reduce pigment spots, and boosts the radiance of the skin.
-
Application in the evening: It helps fight the signs of aging, stimulate cell renewal , reduce pigmentation spots and improve skin texture.
ORGANIC REGENERATING SERUM
*Can be applied morning and evening depending on your needs.
-
Application in the morning: Thanks to the 3 molecular weights of hyaluronic acid, the Regenerating Serum helps maintain skin hydration throughout the day, which is particularly beneficial if you have dry or dehydrated skin.
-
Application in the evening: If you are looking for a plumping and regenerating effect during the night. The Regenerating Serum promotes skin regeneration during sleep and prevents loss of elasticity and sagging of the skin, thanks to the combined action of hyaluronic acid with 3 molecular weights and its booster complex based on Belle de nuit and caffeine.
ORGANIC SEBOREGULATING SERUM
*Can be applied morning and evening depending on your needs.
-
Application in the morning: It helps control sebum production throughout the day, reduce shine and mattify the skin .
-
Application in the evening: It helps regulate sebum production during the night, prevent and treat skin imperfections ( pimples , acne, redness).
04. Do I necessarily have to apply a moisturizer after my serum?
Applying a serum alone may be appropriate but only in certain situations. This depends on several factors, including your skin type , your specific needs , the season , and the formulation of the serum you're using.
If you have oily skin, especially during the summer, applying a serum alone may be enough to hydrate your skin. More specifically, our ORGANIC SEBORE-REGULATING SERUM is an example of a serum that can be applied alone, without a moisturizer behind it. Indeed, in addition to its antibacterial and anti-shine active ingredients, it contains hyaluronic acid, a flagship hydrating active ingredient. It may therefore be sufficient for oily skin. However, if you have dry skin, it is imperative to apply a moisturizer after the serum.
The key is to consider your skin's needs . If you find that the texture of the serum alone is comfortable and meets your needs, you can leave it as is. However, if your skin feels tight or dry without a moisturizer, it is essential to apply one. Listening to your skin is essential to determining the best approach for your skincare routine.
05. Can I mix several serums for maximum effectiveness?
Of course ! Here are the 2 most common cases for which we recommend applying 2 serums, one after the other, to effectively treat the crossed problems.
CASE Nº1
You have the following concerns: imperfections + lack of radiance + uneven skin tone + first signs of skin aging.
We then recommend combining our ORGANIC SEBORE-REGULATING SERUM with our ORGANIC C RADIANCE SERUM with vitamin C.
CASE Nº2
You have concerns related to all markers of skin aging: lack of hydration + loss of firmness + wrinkles and fine lines + lack of radiance + spots.
We then recommend combining our ORGANIC C RADIANCE SERUM with vitamin C with our ORGANIC REGENERATING SERUM with hyaluronic acid.
If you want to combine several serums at once, here is the correct order of application:
