INSIDE OUT HAIR CARE
By Claire Andréewitch, naturopath, specialized in skin health.
Hair needs natural and regular care just like our skin. To care for them, strengthen them and beautify them, I'm explaining to you today how to use the natural trio: the ORGANIC body and hair dry oil, the ORGANIC nourishing hair mask and the very gentle ORGANIC purifying shampoo – and yes it's is in this order...
Then for the “inside” part, I list the nutritional essentials to have beautiful, healthy hair!
OUTSIDE CARE
We often make a mistake in the order of application of treatments and we are surprised that the hair is dull and dehydrated... It is on dry hair that we must apply moisturizing and nourishing treatments and not on wet hair ( because the scales are then closed, the treatments will “slip” over them and will not be able to penetrate to nourish the hair fibers)
1/ I start by applying the Oil to the lengths (on dry hair) and from bottom to top to penetrate the Oil into the hair fiber correctly. Apply to all hair except the scalp. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes, but why not for a few hours when you are quiet at home, or even during the night - protecting the pillowcase ;-)
2/ If my hair needs a lot of nutrition and love, I then apply the Nourishing Mask on top (without removing the Oil), in the same way, and I leave it on for 15-30 min before to switch to Shampoo.
3/ I apply the Shampoo 2-3 times to thoroughly remove the Oil and the Mask. Take the time to massage the scalp well, it is the most important thing to cleanse, detoxify and stimulate circulation – the basis for having a healthy scalp and thus the most beautiful hair! It all starts with the scalp. Take a small amount of shampoo, massage in, rinse and repeat. A shampoo should above all detoxify the scalp, which is often suffocated by the accumulation of dead skin and sebum. Choose purifying shampoos and not moisturizing/nourishing ones – that’s the job of masks, oils and conditioners which are important for the lengths!
4/ If your hair is very dry and damaged, once the hair has been dried with a towel, you can reapply a little Mask to the lengths, leave for 15 minutes and rinse.
After this “SPA” treatment at home your hair will be cleansed, healthy, shiny... in great health!
Adapt this treatment according to your needs and hair type: If the hair is very thick, the 4 steps will do it good; if it is thinner and less dense, remove either step 2 or 4 – experiment to find the routine that works best for your hair!
Try to do a treatment like this once a week and the rest of the time use at least the Mask before and/or after the Shampoo to care for and preserve the hair.
